BASIC COURSE AUTUMN 2023 AND SPRING 2024
Be captivated by the possibilities of glass
For students without experience, this is the right course to start with. They receive a program in five lessons to learn the basics and experience whether glassworking suits them. We first work with the relatively cheap window glass (material costs about € 20). The first week you will cut and glue, then grind and sandblast. In the third lesson, prepare a relief that will melt in the kiln. The fourth week the technique of glass painting is discussed and the fifth lesson colored granules to merge with the glass in the kiln. The large amount of possibilities and diversity will amaze you!
If you already have some experience, you can also come to this class. This course was created because the demand for the permanent courses was too high. I am happy to help you tailor-made!
A little warning… Working with glass is often addictive and it not a cheap material. Students usually switch to colored glass sheets to work with after the window glass. This specialist glass is more than five times as expensive as the window glass.
The glass-working courses are popular. If you are interested in joining, enroll early. The program for the season will be online on the CKC & Partners website at the end of May/ beginning of June. You can register via the website. NB registrations are not handled by Martine Knoppert but by the center where she is employed.
The location of CKC en Partners in Zoetermeer is Leidsewallen 80, near the old village within walking distance of Randstadrail 3 and 4 (stop Stadhuis). Parking is free for three hours with the blue parking card.
Tuesday workshop
The TUESDAY ATELIER is offered in blocks of fifteen lessons. Time is from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The teacher is present at the studio for 2.5 hours and you can work 1.5 hours extra. The studio is for advanced users. The first block of 15 lessons usually starts in September and the second block at the end of January / beginning of February. The second block has one extra-long project lesson.
Double offer on Saturday:
On Saturday morning (from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm), there is GLASS FOR ADVANCED, a course of thirty lessons. Three lessons are extra-long; we do a specific project that lesson.
On Saturday afternoons there are two 11-lesson so called INSTROOM COURSES. They are intended for beginning and advanced learners. Classes are from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. The blocks start in September and January. New this season: 10 regular lessons and one extra-long project lesson. The blocks start in September and January.
